Setup Banner Getting Helply ready takes a few steps. Add the bot to your server, open that server in the dashboard, and work through the core configuration tabs.
Helply is configured per server, so each community can have its own routing, context, behavior, and permissions.

Setup steps

Add Helply to your server

Open the Servers page in the dashboard and click Add server.Once Discord finishes the invite flow, refresh your server list if needed, then open the server you want to configure.You can also invite Helply directly here.

Open your server dashboard

Select the server you want to configure from the dashboard.If you are having trouble finding it, run /dashboard inside your Discord server to open the correct dashboard page more quickly.

Choose where Helply should respond

Start by setting your support destinations. Depending on your workflow, you can configure Helply for ticket channels and categories or for forum channels.

Overview

Configure your main support flow and core routing.

Forums

Set up Helply for forum-based support workflows.

Set your support roles

Choose which roles count as your support team. Helply uses this to understand when staff are involved and how it should behave in support conversations.Read more in Overview.

Add context

Give Helply the information it should use when answering questions. This is where you connect docs, notes, websites, and other knowledge sources so replies stay accurate and grounded.Read more in Context.
Context is required. Helply will not respond unless context has been added.

Review the rest of your settings

Once the basics are in place, go through the remaining tabs and adjust the parts of Helply that matter for your server.

Actions

Configure ticket behavior, automation, and workflow actions.

Optimize

Improve FAQ handling and response efficiency.

Behavior

Adjust tone, style, and response behavior.

Intelligence

Manage model-related settings and response quality options.

Permissions

Control who can access commands and configuration features.

Test Helply

Run a quick test in your server to make sure Helply is responding in the right places and using the context you added.
Helply will not respond until it is enabled at the top of the dashboard.
Helply will not respond to you if you have an ignored or staff role. Before testing, ensure you are not using a role that Helply is intentionally set to ignore.

Decide which tickets, threads, or forums Helply should handle.

Context

Add the knowledge Helply should rely on when answering.

Roles

Define who counts as staff and how Helply should treat support roles.

Testing

Confirm Helply is enabled and behaving correctly before rollout.
